Ingredients

  • Air-popped popcorn or (200 grams corn kernels, unpopped)    :- 20 cups
  • Butter, cut into chunks, plus more for your hands    : 300 grams
  • Honey    : 300 ml
  • Salt    :- 5 grams
  • Vanilla essences    :- 30 ml

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C. Put popcorn in a baking tray Lined with butter paper.
  2. In a heavy bottom pan over medium heat, use a wooden spoon to stir together butter, honey, and salt until butter is melted, now Increase the heat and boil honey mixture gently for 1.5 minute, stirring continuously, now add vanilla essences.
  3. Pour honey mixture over popcorn in baking tray and stir gently to coat them well. Bake popcorn in oven stirring every 5 minutes, until deep golden color all over the popcorn for about 25 minutes.
  4. Take them out and Let them stand 5 minutes, until cool enough to handle, now lightly butter your hands and press small handfuls of the mixture into 1 1/2-in small balls, occasionally loosening popcorn from bottom of pan with a spatula. If mixture cools too much, return it to oven for about 45 seconds to soften and start again.
  5. Put popcorn balls on prepared baking sheet and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Note:

  • If you don’t have air popped popcorn’s, you can pop the popcorn in the microwave.
  • Working in 2 batches, put corn kernels in a paper bag (any size). Do not add oil.
  • Fold the bag’s opening to seal by twisting it several times, then microwave at full power for a minute, check and remove popped kernels (as they burn easily). Be careful when opening bag; it will release steam.
