Ingredients

  • Gold rum    :- 30 ml
  • Dark rum    :- 30 ml
  • Lime juice (from 1 squeezed lime)    :- 15 ml
  • Orange curacao or Triple Sec    :- 15 ml
  • Orgeat syrup (or Disaronno)    :- 7.5 ml
  • Simple syrup or Maple syrup    :- 7.5 ml
  • Ice, crushed    :- 2 cups

Garnish

  • Cherry
  • Pineapple wedge

Preparation

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Add the rums, lime juice, orange curacao, simple syrup, and orgeat, and shake well.
  2. Pour into a double old-fashioned (or a highball) glass without straining.
  3. Garnish, and serve with a straw.
Note: To make simple syrup, combine 1 pound sugar (about 2 1/2 cups) with 1 cup water in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and cook until the sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Cool, and pour into a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Will keep for several months in the fridge.
